Oracle DBA

Purpose and Overview

The purpose of this job description is to attract highly qualified candidates for the position of Oracle DBA at our growing company. As an Oracle DBA, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our Oracle database systems. They will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases, as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise. The Oracle DBA will work closely with our IT team to optimize database performance and implement best practices. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain our Oracle database systems, including installation, configuration, and upgrades
• Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and scalability
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access control and data encryption
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, such as performance bottlenecks and data corruption
• Perform regular database backups and disaster recovery procedures
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators to design and implement database solutions
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models and technical specifications
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database technologies and best practices
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support

Requirements

• Familiar with unix OS and shell scripts
• Good technical skills for Oracle DBA for all versions starting from 8i through 19c on unix and windows environment
• Performing database health check Understanding of housekeeping and capacity planning of file systems
• Knowledge on oracle database installation and configuration
• Should have knowledge on exp imp and datapump utilities Knowledge on database refreshes from production to non prod environment as per requests
• Should have knowledge in RMAN backup and recovery
• Knowledge on oracle Dataguard configuration and related support
• Should have worked on ASM configuration
• Basic knowledge of OEM Knowledge on oracle RAC Migration cloning of databases DB upgrade and patching
• Database performance troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of ITIL process i e Incident Problem and Change management
