Purpose and Overview

Deloitte Global People & Operations Data Management team is looking for an energetic, technical, client-service focused, analytical, innovative, experienced and ambitious individual to join its growing HRIS team.

This team’s mission is centered around successfully executing on the people data and technology strategy. They manage employee data for 10000+ global professionals from multiple data sources across 40+ countries in the Global HRIS database. People data is foundational for all HR reporting and analytics needs, to provide business leaders with actionable insights in making informed decisions on people-related matters, make HR processes and operations more efficient and effective, and improve the overall wellbeing and effectiveness of the company's talent pool.

This data manager will partner closely within our Data Management COE, and with our Global People COE’s in Advisory, Workforce Solutions, Inclusion & leadership development, Engagement, Performance Experience, Analytics, Finance, and Technology on a regular basis with a particular focus on continuously enhancing data integrity across all HR systems. Having full knowledge and expertise about the full life-cycle of HR is critical in this role. The team provides a complete suite of services in the HR technology area: from collaborating with member firms HR and privacy teams for employee data sharing approvals, processing employee transactions in the HRIS systems, ensuring data integrity, to partnering with technology teams in enhancing and upgrading system functionalities and capabilities, supporting adhoc reporting requests and creating new tools and templates to execute the data management strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead employee data collection and operational activities to support business transformations
  • Collaborate with People leadership and member firm talent and privacy teams in various geographies to seek cross-border employee data sharing approvals
  • Manage pre-hire and post-hire employee data collection from 90+ countries required by various People COE’s to support IT of the Future business transformation program
  • Project Management responsibilities to support Global People’s strategic priorities including developing and monitoring project plans, tracking and following up on risks as it relates to people data collection, and accurately reporting progress against milestones to keep projects on schedule.
  • Serve as People Data lead for DTTL People Operational Excellence team on day to day operations
  • Provide insightful regular executive reports on data management activities, issues and recommendations to leadership
  • Process employee data transactions in SAP and monitor data quality overall
  • Performing ongoing validation, reconciliation and audit of employee data and data management processes, implementing data governance framework
  • Proactively identifying data gaps and help solution, mitigate risks, and highlight areas of opportunity to streamline and automate
  • Adapt and transition to the changes in processes and technology, prepare the team to quickly adjust to these changes
  • Partner on HRIS enhancement projects with technology lead
  • Consult with technology team on system integration issues and resolution
  • Support UAT testing for HRIS and reporting enhancement projects and quarterly system upgrades
  • Manage creation of training materials, SOP’s, user guides, and best practices
  • Educate users on how to use our HR systems, tools, and reports
  • Prepare concise, and compelling presentations for senior leadership
  • Identifies opportunities to create efficiencies in processes and team
  • Manage, mentor and coach a team of 15 - 20 professionals which would include assistant managers & deputy managers.
  • Manage staffing, succession planning for the team.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 9-13 yrs. of experience in people data management and analytical role
  • Deep understanding of HR technology, systems, HR data and reporting
  • Experience in some type of data management and analytical role and desire to work and grow within a People (HR) organization
  • Comfortable working with large sets of data with ability to uncover gaps and discrepancies
  • Process and project oriented
  • Expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint (lookups, if statements, dashboard building, graphing, visualization) to communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen (understanding of employee data in HR processes)
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Data Mining skills
  • Superior organizational skills and project management skills; exceptional attention to detail
  • High comfort level working in a fast-paced, results-oriented culture
  • Ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner with minimal guidance
  • Strong research, analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate quantitative and qualitative analyses into clear messages and informed responses to leadership in short timeframes
  • Ability to handle sensitive leadership information with utmost confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to establish credibility/rapport with stakeholders globally and in a virtual environment

Technical Skills

  • Advanced capability with Microsoft Office suite
  • HCM experience – SAP, SuccessFactors
  • Data visualization using Tableau
  • Understanding the data flow and interfacing systems in order to build automated solutions for minimum human intervention for data management needs.
  • Ability to independently interact with internal stakeholders to understand requirement, assess complexity, define timelines and drive results. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

Education: Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or related field preferred
